Geographical Indication Marble from Ambaji, a major pilgrimage site and Shakti Peeth in Gujarat, has been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag for its high-quality white stone. The Geographical Indications Registry under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has granted the tag in the name of the Amb-Bhaji Marble Quarry and Factory Association in Pa-Naskhand district. Known for its strength and high calcium content, this marble is also used in temple construction in the US, New Zealand and the UK.
