The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) The National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) has urged States and Union Territories to train first responders — such as police personnel, ambulance drivers, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics. According to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways’ report “Road Accidents in India 2023”, around 1.7 lakh people were killed in road accidents in 2023. About National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO) It is a national-level organization set up under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi. The establishment of NOTTO is mandated as per the Transplantation of human Organs and Tissues (Amendment) Act of 2011. It functions as the apex centre for all India activities of coordination and networking for: procurement and distribution of organs and tissues; and  Registry of Organs and Tissues Donation and Transplantation in the country. India AI Governance Guidelines On November 5, 2025, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) released the India AI Governance Guidelines, a 66-page document to regulate and promote AI in India. The move precedes the AI Impact Summit 2026 (to be hosted by India in New Delhi). Objectives To create a consistent national framework for regulating and promoting AI. To harness AI for inclusive development and competitiveness, while mitigating societal and individual risks. Reflects India’s stance as the world’s 2nd largest user of Large Language Models (LLMs) after the U.S. Key features in the guidelines: Seven Sutras (principles): Trust; People First; Innovation over Restraint; Fairness & Equity; Accountability; Understandable by Design; Safety, Resilience & Sustainability.
