Operation Sagar Bandhu India launched “Operation Sagar Bandhu” to provide relief to cyclone-affected Sri Lanka (battered by Cyclone Ditwah). First tranche of essential relief supplies delivered via INS Vikrant (aircraft carrier) and INS Udaygiri (stealth frigate). Prime Minister affirmed that the aid is guided by: India’s Neighbourhood First policy Vision MAHASAGAR (Mutual And Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions). Indian Navy International Fleet Review 2026 Indian Navy to hold International Fleet Review (IFR) in Visakhapatnam, February 2026. Theme: “United through Oceans” and strengthening “Bridges of Friendship”. This IFR coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Republic of India. India last conducted an IFR in 2001 (at Mumbai) and the most recent one was in 2016 (at Visakhapatnam), making the 2026 event the third International Fleet Review hosted by India. Indian Navy participates in nearly 20 bilateral exercises, including SIMBEX, Varuna and CORPAT, and several multilateral engagements such as QUAD, MILAN, Malabar and Konkan.
