International Nurses Day International Nurses Day is observed annually on the May 12 which is the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. The official theme for the International Nurses Day 2026 is ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives’ President today conferred the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2026 to fifteen Nursing professionals at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The award has been given for their outstanding contribution in the field of nursing. These prestigious awards are presented to Registered Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, and Lady Health Visitors serving across Central and State Governments, Union Territories, and voluntary organisations. Each award includes a Certificate of Merit, a cash prize of one lakh rupees and a medal symbolising the nation’s gratitude for the invaluable service rendered by these health warriors.   Mental Health Awareness Week Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 is being observed from 11 to 17 May with the theme “Action”.
