Role: Functions as the leading global platform for cooperation on renewable energy and provides expertise on policy, technology, finance, and resource development. Governance Assembly: It is IRENA’s ultimate decision-making authority, made up of one representative from each Member. Indus Waters Treaty Context: India stated today-in response to threats from Pakistan-that there would be no change in its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) until neighboring Pakistan stops supporting cross-border terrorism. India announced the suspension of the agreement's implementation following the Pahalgam attack on April 22, 2025.
