The objective is to construct new concrete houses for the poor living in slums. Tamil Nadu's Maritime & Shipbuilding Policy Tamil Nadu is formalizing a comprehensive Maritime and Shipbuilding Policy. The policy is designed to incentivize new shipyards, attract global players, and enable equity partnerships between the State and private industry. The state is specifically targeting a "big thrust" toward two sectors: life sciences and shipbuilding. The state aims to transform its 1,000-km coastline into a corridor of "immense blue economy opportunities."
