Mahavir Jayanti Mahavir Jayanti 2026 will be observed on 31st March, 2026, commemorating the birth of Lord Mahavir. Lord Mahavir Lord Mahavir Swami was born in 599 BCE in Kundagrama, in present-day Bihar. He belonged to the royal Vardhaman family but chose a very different path, renouncing worldly comforts at the age of 30. After 12 years of rigorous meditation and austerities, he attained Kevala Jnana (omniscience). From that point, he devoted his life to spreading the principles of peace, non-violence, and self-realization. His teachings later became the foundation of Jainism, one of the world’s oldest religions.
