Project DANTAK Context: 'Project DANTAK', operating under the Border Roads Organization (BRO), was established in April 1961. It celebrated its 66th Raising Day on April 24, 2026, marking over six decades of service in Bhutan. About the Project DANTAK It plays a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Bhutan by developing strategic infrastructure and enhancing transport connectivity. The project has constructed over 1,500 km of roads, including the strategically significant East-West Highway connecting Trashigang to Thimphu. It has developed the Phuentsholing–Thimphu Highway, Paro International Airport, and Yonphula Airport, along with various bridges, hospitals, schools, and telecommunication networks. It has significantly contributed to Bhutan's socio-economic development, particularly in the areas of hydropower and connectivity. Recently, the project has continued to grow through modernization, road widening, disaster management capabilities, and new road-bridge initiatives. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) App 2.0 Context : The Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is set to launch the upgraded 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan' (NMBA) App 2.0 to strengthen monitoring under the 'National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction' (NAPDDR). About Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) The 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan' (Drug-Free India Campaign) was launched on August 15, 2020, by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 272 districts identified as being highly vulnerable to drug abuse. It was expanded to cover all districts across the country effective from August 15, 2023. The core objective of the campaign is to reduce the demand for drugs and to create awareness among youth, women, and the general public about the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
