Cabinet Committee on Security  Context: Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to assess the developing situation in West Asia. About the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) The CCS is India’s highest decision-making authority on issues concerning national security and defence. It is led by the Prime Minister. Its core members generally include: The Home Minister, The Defence Minister, The Finance Minister and The External Affairs Minister The National Security Advisor (NSA) functions as the principal coordinator at the secretary level for matters handled by the CCS. Responsibilities of the CCS Defence & National Security Examines both internal and external security threats. Takes key decisions on defence preparedness, military operations, and intelligence coordination. External Relations & Strategic Affairs Frames policies related to foreign affairs. Reviews strategic international partnerships and security cooperation. Nuclear & Space Matters Supervises important policy decisions regarding nuclear capability and space programmes. Senior-Level Appointments Clears appointments to top positions in defence forces and intelligence organizations.   NITI Aayog – JICA SDG Cooperation Context: NITI Aayog and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) formalised the Record of Discussions (RoD). The agreement launches Phase II of the Japan–India collaboration on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Aim of the Project: To enhance policy design and execution mechanisms for achieving SDGs. Encompasses six priority sectors: Global partnerships Health and nutrition Education Agriculture and water management Financial inclusion and skill development Core infrastructure Planned Interventions Exchange programmes between Indian and Japanese stakeholders. Training and institutional capacity-building initiatives. Joint knowledge-sharing platforms and forums. Documentation and replication of successful best practices.
