Data centricity refers to treating information as a key warfighting tool. This enables real-time decision-making and rapid targeting. This initiative supports joint operations among the three armed forces. Ramjet Engine Background: The Indian Army is set to use 155mm artillery shells fitted with a ramjet engine for the first time in the world. This technology has been jointly developed by IIT Madras and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Ramjet Engine Since it operates by drawing in air, it does not require a turbine or compressor. These shells strike at Mach 2 speed and travel 30-50% farther than conventional shells. This technology, developed under the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) initiative, will help in accurately striking long-range targets. This technology can be integrated into and used to upgrade existing 155mm artillery shells.
