SHe-Box 2.0: Strengthening Workplace Safety for Women Context: The Government has undertaken several structural and policy measures to promote women’s safety, dignity, and participation across sectors. The Ministry of Women and Child Development implements Mission Shakti, which provides an integrated framework for convergence of schemes and strengthening institutional mechanisms. SHe-Box Portal The Sexual Harassment electronic Box (SHe-Box) portal was created to implement the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (SH Act). To enhance its effectiveness, the Government launched SHe-Box 2.0 on 29 August 2024. Features of SHe-Box 2.0 Provides a single-window platform for women from: Organised sector , Unorganised sector ,Public sector , Private sector Enables women to register and track complaints related to workplace sexual harassment. Facilitates seamless coordination among stakeholders and strengthens implementation of the SH Act through a structured and monitorable system. Accessibility and Inclusivity Offers a secure, confidential, and user-friendly interface. Allows women to report incidents without fear of stigma or retaliation. Available in 22 languages, including Hindi and English, ensuring wider accessibility and inclusiveness. Objective To create a safer work environment and strengthen the redressal mechanism for workplace sexual harassment, thereby promoting women's empowerment and participation in the workforce.
