Tamil Nadu Climate Action Tracker Minister for Finance, Environment and Climate Change launched the 'Climate Action Tracker for Tamil Nadu' and 'Climate Decarbonisation Pathways'. The pathways were launched for specific districts: Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Coimbatore, and Nilgiris. The framework will be progressively expanded across the State. Objective: To achieve net zero emissions through district-level and community-level planning. Aim: To build an economy that is resilient, inclusive, competitive, and environmentally responsible. Other Broader Environmental Efforts of Tamil Nadu Meendum Manjappai Movement: Promotes responsible consumption by reducing plastic use. Thooimai Mission: Focuses on transforming waste management to create a cleaner Tamil Nadu. Renewable Energy Achievements Tamil Nadu added ~10 GW of renewable energy capacity in the past five years. Currently, 60% of total installed energy capacity in the State comes from renewable sources.
