It comprising a six lane elevated highway on the lower deck and a metro corridor on the upper level has been proposed for 18.4km stretch Environment Blue Flag certification Context: The Tamil Nadu government is upgrading Marina Beach infrastructure to meet international standards and secure the Blue Flag certification for multiple beaches. To achieve the Blue Flag eco-label awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Denmark, which requires meeting 33 stringent criteria across water quality, environmental management, safety, and accessibility. Kovalam Beach in Tamil Nadu has already received the certification.
