Most Polluted Country: Pakistan recorded the highest pollution levels, with PM2.5 concentrations exceeding 13 times the WHO limit. Most Polluted City: Loni in Uttar Pradesh emerged as the world’s most polluted city, with PM2.5 levels roughly 22 times higher than recommended levels. Regional Trend: A majority of the most polluted cities are located in India, Pakistan, and China, making Central and South Asia the worst-affected region. India’s Ranking: India ranked as the 6th most polluted country in 2025, showing a slight improvement from 5th place in 2024.
