DigiArivu – Empowering Students Through Tech Initiative  The initiative was launched in Chennai on 19.11.2025 by the Tamil Nadu School Education Minister. Partners: Samsung (the electronics giant) in partnership with the United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI). Goal: To strengthen digital learning and STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in select government schools in Tamil Nadu. Coverage: The initiative will upgrade infrastructure in 10 government schools in Kancheepuram and Ranipet districts. Beneficiaries: Over 3,000 students are expected to benefit from the programme. World Tamil Research Institute Started due to the efforts of former Chief Minister Perarignar Anna Tamilaringar, Thaninayagam Adigal and others. The establishment was officially announced by then Chief Minister Perarignar Anna at the Second World Tamil Conference held in Chennai in 1968. The aim was to create a high-level research centre for Tamil that would be in good condition, similar to the French Language Arts Institute in France. Headquarters: Located in Taramani, Chennai. Current Chairman: R. Balakrishnan, I.A.S. (Retd.) Focus areas: Conducting advanced Tamil research, supporting researchers, and promoting Tamil studies across literature, culture, science, medicine, and global Tamil research.
