Virtual Tumour Boards (VTBs) for Cancer Care

  • The Tamil Nadu Health Department will establish Virtual Tumour Boards (VTBs) in a hub-and-spoke model across tertiary care institutions and district hospitals.
  • Purpose:
  • To ensure specialist cancer opinions reach smaller or remote hospitals.
  • To provide proper diagnosis, timely treatment, and standardised cancer care anywhere in the State.
  • Institutional-level Tumour Boards, which provide treatment plans and suitable directions, are already functioning in several key centres.

Third ‘TN Rising Conclave’

    • Tamil Nadu will host the 3rd TN Rising Conclave on November 25 in Coimbatore.
    •  The conclave will focus on key sectors including electronics, general manufacturing, textiles, and aerospace and defence.
    • The event is the third regional investment summit (following Thoothukudi and Hosur), reinforcing the government’s commitment to shifting the spotlight away from the capital city of Chennai.
  • Coimbatore is emerging as a holistic economic engine, with:
  • 25+ Global Capability Centres (GCCs)
  • Rapid expansion of IT firms

South India Natural Farming Summit

  • The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 3-day South India Natural Farming Summit at Coimbatore Kodisia Complex (Nov. 19)
  • Farmers from Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, organic farming scientists, distributors and sellers of organic agricultural products will participate in the conference.
  • Aim: To promote the adoption of sustainable, environmentally friendly and chemical-free practices and to accelerate the adoption of organic and fish-based farming as a viable and climate-friendly, economically sustainable model for India’s agricultural future
