‘Pink Crew’

• The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has launched a ‘pink crew’, where operations on a route will be handled by an all-woman crew
• The ‘pink crew’ service on two routes from the Vyasarpadi depot, from where electric buses are operated.
• The move comes as part of promoting participation and leadership of women in public transport

‘Naan Mudhalvan’ Technology Courses in Polytechnic Colleges

• ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme technology courses to be introduced in the 4th semester of polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu.
• Objective: Enhance technical teaching capacity and align polytechnic education with industry-relevant skills under the Naan Mudhalvan initiative. 
• Implementation begins in the current academic year 2025–26.
• Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) is overseeing the introduction of these courses.
• To ensure effective teaching, a 6-day skill development training programme has been launched for polytechnic teachers. 
• The training has commenced across Tamil Nadu, covering both government and private polytechnic colleges.
