Initiatives/ Scheme ‘Pink Crew’ The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has launched a ‘pink crew’, where operations on a route will be handled by an all-woman crew The ‘pink crew’ service on two routes from the Vyasarpadi depot, from where electric buses are operated. The move comes as part of promoting participation and leadership of women in public transport ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ Technology Courses in Polytechnic Colleges ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme technology courses to be introduced in the 4th semester of polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu. Objective: Enhance technical teaching capacity and align polytechnic education with industry-relevant skills under the Naan Mudhalvan initiative. Implementation begins in the current academic year 2025–26. Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) is overseeing the introduction of these courses. To ensure effective teaching, a 6-day skill development training programme has been launched for polytechnic teachers. The training has commenced across Tamil Nadu, covering both government and private polytechnic colleges.
