Climate change to drive 33% of earth’s flora, fauna to extinction by 2070

Climate changemay cause one in three species of plants and animals worldwide to become extinct in the next 50 years, according to a study. The researchers from the University of Arizona in the US compiled detailed estimates of global extinction from climate change by 2070. The researchers examined local extinctions that have already happened, based on studies of repeated surveys of plants and animals over time. They analysed data from 538 species and 581 sites around the world.

WEF to conserve 1 trillion trees by 2030 to combat climate change through 1t.org

The World Economic Forum (WEF) and its partners have launched orgwhich is a multi stakeholder effort to support efforts to grow, restore and conserve 1 trillion trees around the world in order to restore the biodiversity and help combat climate change. 1t.org’s aims and efforts to be taken: Project aim: org project aims to unite all the countries’ govts, non-govt. organisations, businesses & individuals in to restore nature in a mass scale. Climate change caused 15 disaster this year

At least 15 natural disasters linked to climate change this year caused damage of over $1 billion and seven of them cost at least $10 billion, British charity Christian Aid. This year is set to be the second hottest year in history and each of the disasters in the report has a link with climate change. From Southern Africa to North America and from Australia and Asia to Europe, floods, storms and fires brought chaos and destruction. the disasters displaced millions and caused widespread deaths.These included the floods that ravaged north India, typhoon Lekima in China, Hurricane Dorian in the United States, floods in China, floods in the Midwest and southern United States, typhoon Hagibis in Japan and the California wildfires, the costliest tragedy at $25 billion.
