- Context: Indian Prime Minister stated that the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana will generate new employment opportunities for about 3.5 crore youth.
About Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
- It is a national employment-linked incentive scheme to promote job creation in formal sectors, especially manufacturing, as part of the Viksit Bharat initiative.
- Launch Date: Effective from 1st August 2025
- Administered By: Ministry of Labour and Employment through Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
- Implementation Period: 2025–2027
- Key Features of PM-VBRY:
o Part A: Benefits for First Time Employees
- It targets first-time employees registered with Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
- One-month EPF wage up to Rs 15,000 in two instalments.
o Part B: Benefits for Employers Creating Jobs
- Employers will receive incentives in respect of new employees with salaries up to Rs 1 lakh.
- Up to Rs 3000 per month, for two years, for each additional employment, sustained for at least six months.
