Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Context: About 60 lakh first-time employees, including over 18 lakh women have benefitted under Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). PM-VBRY is the Centre‘s Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme operational from August 1, 2025. About Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) The Union Cabinet approved the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme on 1 July 2025. The scheme is named Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY). It aims to: Promote employment generation. Enhance employability. Strengthen social security. Support MSMEs and rural enterprises. Give special emphasis to the manufacturing sector. Duration of the Scheme Incentives are applicable to jobs created during the two-year registration period: 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027. The scheme seeks to create more than 3.5 crore jobs across the country over two years. Part A – Incentives for First-Time Employees Applicable to first-time employees in both existing and new establishments. Employees will receive an incentive equivalent to one month's EPF wage, subject to a maximum of ₹15,000. The incentive is paid in two instalments: First instalment: Up to ₹7,500 after completion of six months of continuous employment. Second instalment: After completion of twelve months and successful completion of the prescribed Financial Literacy Programme. The second instalment will be credited to an appropriate savings instrument or savings account for a specified period. Part B – Incentives for Employers Employers will receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each additional employee. The employment must be sustained for at least six months. About Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana It is a national employment-linked incentive scheme to promote job creation in formal sectors, especially manufacturing, as part of the Viksit Bharat initiative. Launch Date: Effective from 1st August 2025 Administered By: Ministry of Labour and Employment through Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Implementation Period: 2025–2027 Key Features of PM-VBRY: o Part A: Benefits for First Time Employees It targets first-time employees registered with Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
