114th International Labour Conference (ILC) Context: Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment led the Indian delegation at the 114th International Labour Conference (ILC).  The conference was held in Geneva, Switzerland.  India's Key Priorities Reaffirmed India's commitment to: Inclusive growth, Gender equality, Social dialogue  Showcased India's active and coordinated diplomatic engagement through discussions and bilateral meetings.  About the International Labour Conference (ILC) The International Labour Conference (ILC) is the highest policy-making and deliberative body of the International Labour Organization (ILO).  It convenes every year and brings together tripartite delegations from the ILO’s 187 member countries, along with several observers. Functions of the International Labour Conference Formulates and adopts international labour standards in the form of Conventions and Recommendations. Monitors the implementation of labour standards through its Committee on the Application of Standards. Approves the ILO’s biennial programme and budget and determines the contribution of member countries towards organizational expenses. Elects the members of the Governing Body. Admits new member states that are not part of the United Nations. Examines reports submitted by the Director-General and the Chairperson of the Governing Body. Passes resolutions that guide the ILO’s overall policies and shape its future activities. Significance India's participation in the 114th International Labour Conference strengthened international cooperation in labour and employment.  The bilateral meetings reinforced India's commitment to enhancing partnerships in skills, workforce development, and social security, particularly with countries in Asia and Africa.
