Environment and ecology  Amur Vulture-Long-Distance Bird Species  Context: The Amur Vulture from Manipur completed an exceptional 5,600 km non-stop journey over six days. The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) has launched a special tracking project to monitor their long-distance migration. As part of the project, three vultures — Appabang, Alang, and Ahu — were tagged with radio transmitters on November 11. About Amur Vulture They are small and agile birds (raptors) locally known as ‘Kahuaipuina’ in Manipur and ‘Molulem’ in Nagaland (Amur Falcon capital of the world).  Their distinctive features include dark plumage, white wing linings, and reddish-orange eyes and feet.
