Sujal Gaon ID Context: Union Minister for Jal Shakti, recently introduced the Sujal Gaon ID to strengthen digital monitoring of rural drinking water infrastructure. About Sujal Gaon ID Sujal Gaon ID is a unique digital identification system designed to digitally map assets related to rural piped drinking water supply. These IDs have been created across 31 States and Union Territories and are connected to about 67,000 Sujalam Bharat IDs. Each Sujalam Bharat ID combines the infrastructure ID of a scheme and the service area ID, forming a complete digital record of rural water service delivery. The system is integrated with the Sujalam Bharat national digital architecture, enabling end-to-end mapping of the rural water supply chain from source to tap through unique IDs assigned to every village or service area. The initiative has been introduced by the Ministry of Jal Shakti under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Key Facts about Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched on 15 August 2019.
