New Guard Establishment The Indian Army has strengthened its eastern border by setting up three new guard posts. The new establishments include the Lachit Bor Phukan military station in Assam's Dhubri district and forward posts at Kish Anganj in Bihar and So-Phra in West Bengal, all located close to the India-Bangladesh border. The Siliguri corridor, a short land link to India's eight northeastern states, is strategically important, and the additional guard posts will improve surveillance in the region, the official added. Wing Commander Hi-Manshu Tiwari, Chief PRO, Ministry of Defence, Kolkata, also laid the foundation stone for the Lachit Bor Phukan military station in Pamunikhan Named after an Ahom commander.
