  • The day was first observed in 1992.

World Organisations – Pacts and Summits

COP 28 

  • COP 28 Summit is being held in Dubai from 30 November until 12 December 2023.
  • The BASIC grouping of Brazil, India, South Africa and China has that the Global Stocktake should acount for the failures of the developed nation. 
  • The Global Stocktake (GST) is a fundamental component of the Paris Agreement, which is used to monitor its implementation and evaluate the collective progress made in achieving the agreed goals. 
  • BASIC grouping was formed in 2009

India’s third female Grand Master

  • Vaishali became the third Indian woman to get the Grand Master title after Koneru Humpy and Dronavalli Harika. 
  • She became the first woman Grand Master from Tamil Nadu
