Important Days National Press Day – November 16 National Press Day is celebrated every year as a symbolic of a free and responsible press in India. The day commemorates the establishment of Press Council of India, which acts as a regulatory body for news media. Theme 2023 : Media in the Era of Artificial Intelligence Press Council of India it started operating on 16 November 1966. Awards & Honours JCB Prize for Literature 2023 Tamil writer Perumal Murugan has won the JCB Prize for Literature for his novel, Fire Bird, an English translation of his Tamil novel Aalanda Patchi. The book was translated by Janani Kannan The award carries a ₹25 lakh cash prize. The award was established in 2018. Indira Gandhi Peace Prize 2022 The Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development 2022 was jointly awarded to the Indian Medical Association and the Trained Nurses Association of India as representatives of the COVID-19 warriors in the country. It is an annual award accorded by Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust The award was first presented in 1986. Namita Chattopadhyay Sahitya Samman 2023 Nadijibir Notebook (‘notebook on rivers’) a book in Bengali by writer and river scientist Supratim Karmakar was honoured with the Namita Chattopadhyay Sahitya Samman 2023 at the Bangla Akademi in Kolkata. Namita Chattopadhyay Sahitya Samman 2023 is a literary award instituted in honour of Namita Chattopadhyay who was a well-known literary Bengali critic. World Summits and Organisation APEC Summit 2023 30th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting concluded in San Francisco. APEC stands for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. The forum aims to promote trade, investment and economic development among nations around the Pacific Ocean. India is not a member of APEC but India has been an observer since 2011.

Important Days National Awareness Week 2023 Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year to bring together all stakeholders in spreading the message of integrity in all spheres of life. In 2023, it is being observed from 30th October to 5th November with the theme of “Say no to Corruption; commit to the Nation” About CVC Formation - February, 1964 (based on Santhanam Committee) Central Vigilance Commission Act, 2003 confers statutory status on the CVC. Awards and Honour British Academy Book Prize 2023 India-born author Nandini Das has been named the winner of the 2023 British Academy Book Prize for her book ‘Courting India: England, Mughal India and the Origins of Empire’  The book brings a new perspective on the origins of empire through the story of the arrival of the first English ambassador in India, Sir Thomas Roe, in the early 17th century. Mole Day was created to generate interest in the subject of Chemistry. One mole of a substance is equal to 6.022 × 1023 units of that substance (such as atoms, molecules, or ions). Theme 2023 : DispicaMole Me. Defence, National Security and Terrorism Project Udbhav Recently, Project Udbhav was launched by the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Project Udbhav is a collaboration between the Army and the United Service Institution of India (USI) which is a defence services think tank. Objective - To synthesise ancient wisdom with contemporary military practices and to forge a unique and holistic approach to address modern security challenges. The project aims to tap into ancient Indian treatises such as Chanakya’s Arthashastra, Kamandaka’s Nitisara, and the Thirukkural by the Tamil poet-saint Thiruvalluvar to glean insights on statecraft, strategy, diplomacy, and warfare.

Important Days World Standard Day 2023 – October 14 World Standard Day 2023 is celebrated every year to raise awareness of how international standards contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Theme 2023 - “shared vision for a better world: Incorporating SDG 3”. It was first celebrated in October 14, 1946. Important Days First National Current Good Manufacturing Practices Day – 10th October 2023 The first National Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Day was celebrated across India to create awareness about the critical role of cGMP in the pharmaceutical industry, ensuring the quality and safety of medicinal products.
