Awards and Honour World Tourism Day- November 27 World Tourism Day is observed on 27 November every year to promote the importance of tourism across the world and to make people aware of the fun and joy associated with travel The day was first observed in  1979 by the World Tourism Organization. Theme 2023: “Tourism and Green Investments”. Defence, National Security and Terrorism Three anti-submarine warfare ships launched The first three of a series of eight anti-submarine warfare shallow water crafts being built by Cochin Shipyard Ltd. for the Navy were launched. The ships were named INS Mahe, INS Malvan and INS Mangrol World Summits and Organisation Day One of COP-28 summit COP 28 Summit is being held in Dubai from 30 November until 12 December 2023. The Loss and Damage Fund was cleared on day one of COP28 summit. The Fund is meant to compensate countries dealing with effects of climate change and gets commitments of nearly $250 million. All developing countries are eligible to apply for the Fund and every country has been ‘invited’ to contribute to it

Awards and Honour Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 American actor and producer Michael Douglas was presented the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 at the closing ceremony of the 54th International Film Festival of India(IFFI) held in Goa. Awards and Honour Ballon d’Or 2023 The 2023 Ballon d'Or is the 67th annual ceremony of the Ballon d'Or, presented by the French magazine ‘France Football’. The award recognising the best footballers in the world in the 2022–23 season. Lionel Messi won the eighth Ballon d’Or award in 2023. Spain’s Aitana Bonmati won the Women’s Ballon d’Or. Note First award - Stanley Matthews (1956) The most number of Ballon d’Or was received by Lionel Messi (8 awards) followed by Cristiano Ronaldo with 5 awards.

Awards and Honour Guidance Tamil Nadu bags UN Promotion Award 2023 Guidance Tamil Nadu has received the prestigious United Nations Promotion Award 2023 for Excellence in Investment Promotion at the 8th World Investment Forum held in Abu Dhabi recently. It received the award for excellence in scaling up energy transition investments. About Guidance TN Formation – 1992 Guidance TN - Nodal agency for investment promotion and single window facilitation under the Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce. 69th National Film Awards President Droupadi Murmu gave away the national film awards for 2021 under various categories at the 69th edition of the ceremony at New Delhi. Feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021, were eligible for National Film Awards 2021. Important Days International Day of Non-violence – October 2 The birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is observed as the International Day of Non-violence. The day was established on 15 June 2007 by United Nations General Assembly resolution. Theme 2023 – “Embrace Diversity, Unite around Common Humanity to Overcome Rising Tensions, Create More Peaceful World” Awards and Honour National Service Scheme Awards for the year 2021-2022 The President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented the National Service Scheme (NSS) Awards for the year 2021-2022 at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The award was given to 52 persons to recognize their outstanding contributions towards voluntary community social service. It was awarded under 3 different categories - University/ +2 Council, NSS Units and their Programme Officers and NSS Volunteers. About NSS Awards Instituted by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Presented every year to the NSS Volunteers, Programme Officers, NSS Units and the Universities/+2 Councils to recognize their voluntary service. Defence, National Security and Terrorism Exercise Garuda Shakti (8th Edition) 2022 The 8th edition of the India-Indonesia bilateral joint training exercise “Garuda Shakti” began at the Sangga Buana training centre in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia. Garuda Shakti 2022 is a part of military-to-military exchange programs. Note The first edition of Exercise Garuda Shakti was conducted in 2012 in India. About Indonesia Capital - Jakarta Currency - Indonesian rupiah President - Joko Widodo Awards and Honour  Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar Award 2022 The Tamil Writer Annamalai has been selected for the Kuvempu Rashtriya Puraskar Award 2022 by the Rashtrakavi Kuvempu Prathishtana (Trust), Kuppali, Karnataka.  The national award was instituted in memory of the late poet laureate Kuvempu of Kannada Literature Since 2013, the memorial foundation named after him has been honoring the best writers in each language with the Rashtriya Puraskar National Award. The award carries a cash award of ₹5 lakh, a silver medal and a citation. About Annamalai Annamalai writes under the pen name Imayam. He has authored seven novels, six short story collections and a novella. He has brought new sensibilities to his writings in Tamil.
